And I wasn't suggesting that fuel hose caused your mechanical failure. Sorry if you took it personally. I figured your motor was probably a soft spot, and I didn't bring it up to defend my side, just to show that OEM, by-the-book builds aren't bulletproof. I'm not trying to make myself look smarter or even correct in others' eyes, just trying to defend my logic when asked to expound. Anyway, I don't think I even participated in that boost gauge thread, but what do I know about boost gauges? I'm a ricer who puts voltage gauges in the A-pillar pod :) Why shouldn't I be able to advocate "cheap" parts? Lots of automotive advice is thrown around this site, doesn't mean people have to take it. It's not like I made an FAQ called "How to make your own timing belt out of rubber bands and dental floss." Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, parts preferences and methods for doing things. I've very aware that my automotive logic doesn't jive with the majority here, and I'm really glad it doesn't. I don't speak up about it just for the sake of pushing the purists' buttons, but at least allow me to defend it when asked to expound. I'm sorry for the low blow, John. I admire you for your dedication in getting your motor back together, even with a new baby (Congrats again!), and your attitude about beating on cars (I think I have you quoted down there).
